Hulk Hogan Claims He Turned Down The Wrestler and Nearly Joined Metallica!

HULK Hogan has been on a media blitz this week and made some intriguing statements. He has claimed that he was considered for the lead role in the Oscar-nominated movie, The Wrestler. Hogan went on to reveal he turned down the role as Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson because he didn’t feel he was the right man. Hogan said in an interview with Digital Spy: “When the script for The Wrestler kept coming to me I said, ‘This movie is so good if you put me in the film as a wrestler people are going to say, “No credibility, Hulk Hogan isn’t a good actor”, whatever Hollywood thinks of me’. As soon as they put Mickey Rourke in there I knew it had a chance, and he did such a great, great job it relit his career.”

In an interview with UK newspaper The Sun, Hogan has claimed that he almost joined the legendary rock band Metallica! Hogan said: “I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn’t work out.”

Elsewhere, Hogan told UK radio station Talk SPORT that Macho Man Randy Savage is a big name missing from the WWE Hall of Fame.
